What to Bring

Most living spaces at MLBS are rustic and heated only with fireplaces in the central living spaces.  Bedrooms are furnished with beds (bare mattress), dresser, desk and chair.  Some rooms have closets.  Most cottages have small refrigerators.  Student cottages are single sex and have shared bathrooms.  No linens, towels or personal toiletries are provided.  Please contact the station if you have any questions about what might be useful, or permitted, to bring.

Firearms and pets are strictly prohibited at MLBS.  Neither are allowed on the station for any length of time, even in private vehicles.  In rare cases the Director may grant special permission for faculty or long-term researchers to bring a dog to the Station.  Requests to bring dogs must be made well in advance.

*NOTE:  There is a limited supply of linens (sheets, blankets, pillows and towels) that can be checked out if providing your own is impossible or a hardship.  Some toiletries are on sale in the station office.
